Smoothie is the weirdest word if you say it over and over….
Recipe modified from Sara Bradford at Nourish Real Food
1/3 cup pumpkin purée. The real stuff is easy to make and so much yummier than the canned stuff!
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 frozen banana or 1 fresh + handful ice cubes
(1/4 cup homemade applesauce, optional)
1 TB almond butter (buy a no sugar/sweetened version)
1 Tb chia seeds,
2 Tb unsweetened coconut
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1tsp pure maple syrup
Blend, pour, enjoy.
I gave up coffee and have cut refined sugar to almost zero for three weeks and have less mood swings, better mental endurance, more energy and sleeping better. It’s not as hard as you imagine and if you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, you can do it too! Modifying your home to remove chemicals with Norwex is a transition, but the mindset and commitment to removing toxins from your home often seems less intimidating than cleaning up your diet. I highly recommend Sara’s programs that make meal planning and the focus on food to heal and care for your body, it’s rewarding and fulfilling to take the time to make food be a purposeful part of your life, and the support and encouragement you receive in her programs make the process fun and totally achievable!
