One of the reasons many of you have hosted home parties with me over the years is because I will clean your oven window (and sometimes the inside!)
Why choose Norwex Oven and Grill Cleaner over self clean? Let’s count the reasons!
Self Clean is HOT. So hot, that it’s hard on your oven. Prolong the life of your oven by skipping this step and doing it the Norwex Cleaning way. 920 degrees of heat can result in dangerous fumes and toxins that may become emitted into the air of the home and lead to compromised air quality that can lead to health issues. Yuck. Pass. Have you ever gotten the window clean with self clean? Nope? Another reason to skip it.
How to use the Norwex Oven and Grill Cleaner:
Enzyme Power! It’s a biodegradable, enzyme based cleaner that safely dissolves baked on, burnt-on food and stubborn, greasy spills for easy clean-up, without caustic chemicals or fumes.
•If using on gas oven, ensure pilot light is off.
•Preheat oven to 100° F/38° C. Turn off, then apply cleaner. You might find that it works better at about 120°. If you spray it and it sizzles, it’s too hot. Don’t burn off those helpful enzymes!
•Close oven and allow to work for five minutes. I use a Spirinett to scrub off the burnt on residue. If you are fancy and have a nice mani, you might want to go with the Mighty Mesh Pot Scrubber
•Wipe clean with a damp EnviroCloth®
•After cleaning, heat oven to 200° F/ 95° C for 10 minutes before cooking food.
• Do not use self-cleaning option when using Oven & Grill Cleaner.
• Some people choose to burn calories and use Cleaning Paste and a Spirisponge to remove any final leftover grease or residue. This requires more elbow grease than Oven and Grill Cleaner, but it’s a safer option than self-clean as well.
• For grills, remove cooking racks and place on layers of newspaper. Spray product and lightly scrub cooking racks with Spirinett. Skip the grill brushes, these are notorious for shedding sharp bristles that you DO NOT want to ingest.
•Allow product to work for five minutes, then wipe racks clean with a damp EnviroCloth.
•Rinse well with water and allow to air dry. Allow an extra five minutes when heating grill the next time you use it.
