Steel Cut Oats Stick To The Bones

I’m seriously working to feed my kids better breakfasts but all 3 have very different palates making this a job that makes me in-sane-o most days. I finally hit a home run with steel cut oats. We let each of them add their own toppings which makes everyone much more agreeable.

1 C. Steel Cut Oats

4 C. Water

Boil water. Slowly stir in oats. Cook about 5-6 minutes over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered about 30 minutes.

My kids go for fresh strawberries, bananas, blueberries, walnuts or pecans, and we sweeten with a local honey or maple syrup. I think a little cinnamon makes it really awesome.
